Problems that should be paid attention to when using carbonized wood
The use of "carbonized wood" is divided into two categories: indoor use and outdoor use.
Indoor use is mainly used for: floors, wall panels, interior decoration, furniture, doors and windows, blinds, window sills, sauna room floors and wooden structures, etc. Especially in the new residential buildings in northern my country, there are more and more ground heating floors. Too many cannot use solid wood flooring because of the unfavorable dimensional stability, and only laminate flooring or multi-layer solid wood composite flooring can be used. In the environment of floor heating, the release of formaldehyde from the adhesive layer of reinforced and composite floors causes indoor air pollution, which is a very difficult problem. The carbonized wood has good size performance and no air pollution, so it can be used for floor heating.
1. Before laying the floor (including the floor heating floor), let the concrete floor dry, or use the hot water pipe for floor heating to heat the floor to make the concrete dry, and then carefully lay the moisture-proof plastic film on the concrete floor, without damage, the floor The plastic film at the base of the surrounding walls should be turned up and pressed under the skirting board to ensure that the ground moisture and moisture will not invade the floor. In this way, the floor will not be deformed due to water absorption.
Outdoors are mainly used for: exterior wall panels of houses, garden furniture, light wooden components for children's playgrounds, open-air floors, pastoral architectural sketches, etc.
2. Carbonized wood for outdoor use must be coated with paint, and cannot be used directly as plain board. Avoid ultraviolet radiation in the sun, making the surface of the board appear "painful" gray, so as to avoid cracking of the end of the board and mold on the surface of the board. Finishing with oily base and alkyd topcoat, or professional paint such as Thomson's "water seal" paint, etc., can effectively prevent the above defects.
3. When using outdoors, do not directly contact the soil (especially in the south) and sea water to prolong the life. After carbonized wood is exposed to wet soil with a moisture content of 120±10% for 3 months, its moisture content ranges from 29% to 63%, and it will absorb a large amount of water
4. "Carbonized wood" is not recommended to be used as a heavy wood structure. Due to the increased brittleness of "carbonized wood", its impact toughness, split resistance, and shear strength have decreased.
