4. The awareness of energy saving and environmental protection is not strong. Energy consumption is the main cost factor of wood drying, especially for ultra-large-scale wood drying enterprises, the potential for energy saving and efficiency enhancement is extremely considerable, but currently very few wood drying enterprises have taken measures in this regard. In 2006, my country proposed to build a conservation-oriented society, and corresponding policies and measures were introduced, which provided a good development opportunity for the energy-saving work of the wood drying industry.

According to relevant statistics, at present, my country's dry timber accounts for about 30% of the total sawn timber, while that of the western United States reaches 60%. Although the rapid development of my country's wood drying industry in recent years has significantly improved the drying rate of sawn timber, it is far from reaching the level of developed countries. With the implementation of the international energy strategy, the continuous improvement of domestic and foreign wood processing enterprises and the rapid progress of electronic technology, energy-saving technology, and material technology, wood drying technology is also developing in the direction of high efficiency and green drying. New energy-saving drying technologies such as dehumidification drying and solar drying will be widely used. Conventional drying equipment will be further improved in terms of manufacturability, heat preservation, sealing, and corrosion resistance. The drying cost will be reduced, and the drying quality and economic benefits will be greatly improved. The improvement of the quality of industrial products has laid the foundation.
