Equipment Inspection before Wood Drying - Inspection of Moisture Regulating System
To ensure the smooth progress of the wood drying process, it is necessary to conduct a systematic inspection of the facilities in the drying room before each drying, especially the internal facilities. Otherwise, if problems occur during the drying process, it will seriously affect the production cycle and drying quality of wood drying, and also have an impact on the service life of the drying equipment. The equipment inspection before drying mainly includes the inspection of the various systems that make up the drying chamber.
The function of a humidity control system is to increase and maintain the relative humidity of the drying medium in the drying room, or to reduce and maintain the relative humidity of the drying medium in the drying room. It should be able to replenish the water vapor required for the drying medium in the drying room.
The humidity control system is one of the important components of the drying chamber. It includes an intake and exhaust duct (moisture discharge valve), a steam injection pipe, and some steam pipelines.
The steam injection pipe often experiences air leakage or abnormal steam injection. The inspection method is to ensure that the valve of the heater is fully closed and the steam pressure in the main steam pipeline is normal. After fully closing the valve of the steam injection pipe, observe the steam injection pipe. There are generally two situations: one is that if steam is sprayed or exposed from the spray hole on the steam spraying pipe, it indicates that the valve of the steam spraying pipe is malfunctioning and needs to be repaired or replaced immediately. Otherwise, the drying time of the wood will be extended or the wood will not dry, and in severe cases, it will cause wood discoloration or mold, affecting the drying quality; Another situation is that when the valve of the steam spraying pipe is normal, when it is opened, steam cannot be sprayed out of the spraying hole, but condensed water flows out, indicating that the spraying hole on the steam spraying pipe is blocked by debris and should be immediately cleared. These two situations often occur in drying production, and operators should pay special attention.
The common problem with the intake and exhaust ducts is that the valve switches out of control. The main reason is that the connecting rod driving the valve is often misaligned, making it difficult to open or close the valve in place. If it occurs, it should be repaired and adjusted in a timely manner. Otherwise, the state of the drying medium in the drying room is difficult to adjust, maintain, and control.
